Size / Fit Info & Care
If you are familiar with American sizes, please note Salt-Water / Sun-San sizing are not typical US sizes.
Are you wondering, should I size up in sandals? Where should your toes be in sandals? What is the best sandal fit for you?
Please read how each model fits in the descriptions below for Salt-Water and Sun-San sizing. These are general guidelines and of course your exact size and fitting will ultimately depend on your personal preference and the overall structure of your foot. Because these are open toed shoes people like to wear them differently (toes close to edge / not close too the edge!)
Is shoe size the same as sandal size? This isn't always the case, we recommend looking at our Salt-Water and Sun-San size guide for how your sandals should fit.
Alternatively, click below to open up the relevant size guide for your sandal choice.
Please note, kids shoes should NOT be purposefully bought larger in order to make the sandal "last longer" as the traditional fit of this brand is pretty roomy. With any of the sandals, should you get a sore spot, dunk your foot & sandal into water (yes really!) and wear them until they dry. Remember, every model can be used as a swimming shoe and can be hand washed using a gentle detergent.
Seawee

Sailor
A mini version of the Shark sandal with closed toe and ankle strap. This sandal fits slightly narrower and shorter than other sandals in the toddler range. Not the best for wider feet. Check out our Sun-San toddler size chart to measure up and get the right size.
Swimmer
The Swimmer features a plaited leather toe with buckled ankle strap. Fits narrower than the Salt-Water Original, and as the front is non-adjustable, not the best for very narrow or wide feet. Check out our Sun-San size chart to measure up and get the right size.
Shark
This design has a woven semi-closed toe and heel. Fits shorter and narrower than most other models so please order at least a +1 in this size. Not the best for wider feet. Check out our Sun-San size chart to measure up and get the right size.
Surfer
Your quintessential classic sandal. Adjustable buckle toe & ankle straps on a urethane sole. The best all round sandal for any shape foot. Check out our Sun-San size chart to measure up and get the right size.
Sweetheart
The Sweetheart is fully adjustable with buckled toe and ankle straps. Just as robust as the Surfer but a little bit girlier. Great for all feet shapes. Please note that due to the crimped edges we suggest softening in water prior to wear. Check out our Sun-San size chart to measure up and get the right size.
Original
The Original is a roomy sandal and fits comfortably wide. Before you put them on for the first time, stretch out the toe straps and gently bend the sole to ease. Best fitted with toes behind the stitch line. Do not oversize for children with the hope they will last longer - you do not want anyone tripping up! Check out our Salt-Water size chart to measure up and get the right size.
Classic
The Classic if fully adjustable with buckled toe and ankle straps. It has a naturally narrower fit than the Original, but can be fully adjusted across the foot for a wider fit. As with all sandals in the Salt-Water range we suggest that your toes sit behind the stitch line. Check out our Salt-Water size chart to measure up and get the right size.
Classic Slide
The Classic is a slider sandal with fully adjustable toe strap. It is great for adjusting for a narrow or wide fit. As with all sandals in the Salt-Water range we suggest that your toes sit behind the stitch line but make sure your heel is not hanging over the edge as there is no ankle strap. Check out our Salt-Water size chart to measure up and get the right size.
Shark Original

Retro
The Retro has a narrower fit than the Salt-Water Original. As with all of our sandals the leather will 'give' naturally over time and can be worn in water to help speed up the process, but we do not recommend for a wide foot. As with all sandals in the Salt-Water range we suggest that your toes sit behind the stitch line. Check out our Salt-Water size chart to measure up and get the right size.
Retro Slide
The Retro Slide has a narrower fit than the Salt-Water Original and Classic Slide. As with all of our sandals the leather will 'give' naturally over time and can be worn in water to help speed up the process, but we do not recommend for a wide foot. As with all sandals in the Salt-Water range we suggest that your toes sit behind the stitch line but make sure your heel is not hanging over the edge as there is no ankle strap. Check out our Salt-Water size chart to measure up and get the right size.
Boardwalk
Our soft sole Boardwalk women’s sandal takes both the practical buckled strap and vintage design cues from our Classic style. The adjustable strap across the front of this sandal helps to find the perfect fit for both narrow and wide feet. Check out our Sun-San Womens size chart to measure up for the right size.
Adult Swimmer
Designed with ultimate comfort and timeless style in mind, our adult Swimmer style features the same woven upper as our Original sandal but on a soft sole base. Although it has the same design, the Swimmer is a slightly narrower fit than the Original. We would still recommend for wider feet but it is not quite as roomy as the Original. Check out our Sun-San Womens size chart to measure up for the right size.
